Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in College Station is seeking a Med Lab Scientist 3 to perform and monitor a full range of laboratory tests in the Transfusion department. You will assist with supervising laboratory operations and ensure quality control with minimal supervision.

The role requires ASCP MLS certification or equivalent with at least 4 years of blood bank experience, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Day shift, with benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Location: BSWH Hospital College Station TX.
• Department: Transfusion.
• Shift: Day Monday - Friday 6am - 230pm.
• Experience: ASCP MLS certified or equivalent generalist with at least 4 years of blood bank experience.
• Education: Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory beliefs and technical skills to others.
