Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Production Worker at its Bland, VA facility to assemble and wind dry-type transformers for power grids. You will follow directions in a heavy manufacturing setting, using drawings and tools to ensure quality and on-time delivery while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

You may cross-train in multiple skills, support training of others, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Candidate must already have work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Follow general directions to perform tasks in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Maintain safety and quality procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Use engineering drawings to wind, assemble, and fabricate products to meet customer requirements.
• Manually assemble materials used in transformer manufacturing; hands-on work.
• Operate winding machines (semi-automatic and manual).
• Operate machinery to fabricate materials used in transformer manufacturing.
• Use computer to check schedules and update manufacturing status.
• Complete paperwork, records and check sheets.
• Operate cranes and fork trucks for material handling.
• Monitor work quality and resolve inquiries and problems.
• Participate in continuous improvements initiatives.
• Attend team meetings and communicate across departments.
• Cross-train in multiple skills and assist in training others.
