Job summary

Vertiv in Delaware, OH is seeking a motivated Transformer Engineer to design and test transformers for power distribution products. This role encompasses the design, development, and lifecycle support of power transformers and magnetic components, collaborating cross-functionally with teams across manufacturing and engineering.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and possess strong knowledge in transformer design fundamentals, loss calculations, and thermal modeling. This position does not offer sponsorship for work authorization.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments productively.

Responsibilities

• Design magnetic components for power distribution products.
• Support manufacturing facilities to develop fabrication and testing techniques.
• Test prototype components to verify compliance with specifications.

Skills

Transformer design fundamentals (core, winding, insulation)

Loss calculation (core/copper)

Thermal modeling and dielectric design

Electromechanical simulation tools (OPS, Ansoft)

FEMA familiarity

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
