Job summary

Standex International in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Design Engineer to collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support product development and production execution. You will analyze specifications and testing data to optimize transformer performance, generate BOMs and quotes, and prepare build documents and drawings for customer use.

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering is required; knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modeling, plus strong

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering is required.
• Working knowledge of transformer design principles and applications.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software and 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Customers and Sales to assure accurate design requirements
• Design of magnetic components based on requirements
• Generate quotes for new products, including accurate BOM and labor estimates
• Detail construction steps for the creation of build documents
• Review quotes and manufacturing documents for accuracy
• Create drawings/documentation for Customer use as necessary
• Design and build test fixtures for manufacturing as needed
• Enter and maintain Engineering data in MRP system
• Provide support to India facility as needed
• Provide production engineering support to manufacturing
• Follow company guidelines and policies
• Provide technical and application support to customers
