Job summary

CPI Electron Device Business, Inc. seeks a Transformer Winding Technician to fabricate high-voltage coils for electrical equipment.

You will set up and operate manual winding machinery, manage insulation and sealing processes, and work with engineering teams to ensure designs meet strict quality and safety standards. The role requires experience with winding machinery, reading complex electrical drawings, and precise measurement using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating manual coil winding machinery in manufacturing or repair.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency using mechanical measuring devices to verify coil dimensions.

YOUR DAY TO DAY :

We are seeking a detail-oriented Transformer Winding Technician to manufacture high-voltage coils for electrical equipment. In this role, you will set up and operate manual winding machinery, handle insulation and chemical sealing processes, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure all components meet exact design, quality, and safety specifications. Responsibilities: Operate manual winding machines; prepare and form wire leads; set up and load machinery; apply insulation and structural reinforcement; perform mechanical sub-assembly; and collaborate with engineering and test technicians.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE :

  • Proven experience operating manual coil winding machinery in a manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency using mechanical measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify coil dimensions.
  • Ability to manually lift and manipulate components weighing up to 30 pounds regularly.
  • Strong commitment to shop safety, safe lifting techniques, and proper chemical handling protocols for epoxies and resins.
  • This role requires access to export-controlled information, subject to the ITAR and EAR, for which the company will not pursue an export license/license exception. Must be a US person (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals) to be eligible for this role.

Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 / hour
