Job summary

Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our Mesa campus. You will collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff to deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEPs.

The role requires AZ Special Education certification, a Bachelor's degree, and strong collaborative skills. AMS offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within the AMS network.

Qualifications

• Arizona State Certification in Special Education is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field with at least two years of K–8 teaching experience.
• Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education services.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and provide individualized support.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Commitment to supporting Title I, multilingual, and diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with IEPs based on individual needs.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and update IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction for varying academic levels.
• Use data and progress monitoring to inform instruction.
• Maintain thorough documentation of progress, services, and IEP requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers.
• Communicate with families about progress and goals.
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings.
