Job summary

SAU 6 School District in New Hampshire is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to promote health and participation in school activities. You will assess students, develop individualized plans, and coordinate with families, teachers, and therapists to optimize functional performance across cognitive, motor, and sensory domains.

Responsibilities include screenings, evaluations, implementing plans, and using adaptive equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program.
• NBCOT certification (renewed every 3 years).
• NH state licensure from the Office of Allied Health Professionals (renewed every 2 years).
• Experience and other qualifications as specified by the Superintendent/Director of Special Education

Responsibilities

• Respond to student referrals and assess needs.
• Participate in screenings to identify students with functional concerns affecting progress.
• Evaluate students using observation and standardized testing procedures.
• Develop individual student plans with goals and outcomes.
• Implement plans and coordinate with site personnel and therapists.
• Administer therapy treatments to remediate or restore performance.
• Use assistive technology and environmental modifications to support learning.
• Monitor referred students and adjust services as needed.
• Promote health strategies to enhance performance.
• Consult with families, students, and staff to support needs.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with laws and policies.
• Demonstrate flexibility to school needs.
• Attend team meetings and professional development.
