Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Transformation Consultant to drive meaningful enterprise change across the organization. You will work with senior staff to plan, execute, and optimize initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile methods, building compelling business cases and ROI models.

You will develop executive-ready dashboards and lead cross-functional collaboration, mentoring teams, and advancing operational excellence within our Detroit-area network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Degree in nursing, healthcare administration, organizational development, human factors, science, business administration, industrial or related engineering is preferred.
  • No experience required; equivalent industry training and experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable while meeting goals and due dates.

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a Transformation Consultant, you'll be at the heart of driving meaningful enterprise change. Working alongside senior consultants and leaders, you'll take on high-impact projects that shape how our organization operates—from strategic planning and stakeholder engagement to process optimization and change adoption. This is more than a support role; it's your launchpad into a consulting career where you'll build expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile methodologies while making a tangible difference. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Alignment & Oversight:

  • Champion project alignment with enterprise operating plan goals, ensuring every initiative delivers measurable value and supports long‑term organizational priorities.
  • Develop compelling business cases, proposals, and ROI models that validate outcomes and build stakeholder confidence in transformation initiatives.
  • Identify and document critical dependencies, risks, and milestones to maintain transparency and keep leadership informed across all initiatives.
  • Own project planning and execution—developing timelines, tracking deliverables, and managing interdependencies to keep initiatives on schedule and on target.
  • Conduct fact‑finding and data collection activities, translating raw information into actionable insights that drive smarter decision‑making
  • Create polished, executive‑ready materials and performance dashboards that tell the story of project progress and impact.
  • Lead meeting facilitation with precision—setting clear agendas, preparing materials, and ensuring follow‑through that keeps teams aligned and accountable.

Communication & Change Management:

  • Build strong stakeholder partnerships by fostering transparent communication and breaking down silos across functions and departments.
  • Craft compelling change communications that inspire adoption, build buy‑in, and help teams embrace new processes and ways of working.
  • Actively participate in engagement activities that foster collaboration and reinforce an enterprise‑first mindset across the organization.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile tools—including process mapping and value stream analysis—to uncover improvement opportunities and drive operational excellence
  • Research and benchmark best practices, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative problem‑solving approaches to your team.
  • Challenge the status quo by identifying ways to simplify processes, eliminate waste, and deliver greater value to the enterprise.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A degree in nursing, healthcare administration, organizational development, human factors, a science degree, business administration, industrial or related engineering in a related field, or similar field is preferred (with quality/operations improvement emphasis).
  • No experience required. Equivalent industry training and experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable while still meeting goals and due dates.
