Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and one year of labor experience.
• Valid State of New Mexico Driver's license or ability to obtain within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents at the transfer site; directs materials to appropriate disposal areas.
• Inspects incoming solid waste materials and determines placement in disposal areas.
• Logs and maintains records per county and regulatory requirements.
• Assists with recycling program; informs residents how to deliver materials.
• Receives fees, issues receipts, and balances daily cash as required.
• Prepare and balance daily cash log; comply with cash handling procedures.
• Ensures safety guidelines are followed and duties performed safely.
• Lifts, carries, and loads materials and debris; performs routine grounds maintenance.
• Cleans tools, equipment, and areas; removes debris and maintains facility.
• May drive county vehicles to job sites; operates hand tools and backhoes as needed.
• Performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs on assigned equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
