Job summary

Viking Electric is hiring for a 2nd shift Non-CDL Transfer Driver in Milwaukee, WI. This full-time role delivers essential electrical products from our warehouse to customers, with a 2:00pm start and local, home-every-night routes. The position includes a $21.00–$26.00 hourly wage plus a $1.50/hour second-shift differential.

The ideal candidate will pass a pre-trip inspection, assist with loading/unloading, and support warehouse tasks as needed. Benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to lift packages up to 85 pounds.
• DOT physical required.
• Basic math and English communication skills.
• 1 year of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Job type: Full Time

License: Regular license

Vehicle Type: Box truck/straight truck

Schedule: 2:00pm start time Monday-Friday

Hourly pay: $21.00/hr - $26.00/hr (Pay for experience) and $1.50/hr 2nd shift differential

Distance: Local deliveries - return home each night

What You'll Do

As a Non CDL Transfer Driver, you play a vital role in delivering essential electrical products from our warehouse to our valued customers. Each day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of your delivery vehicle, followed by loading materials and packages to prepare for the day ahead. You will make local deliveries to other Viking Electric locations and assist with unloading. When the transfer route is complete, you will assist throughout the Warehouse where needed.

• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
• Transport and deliver products with care
• Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers

What You Bring

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license
• Be at least 21 years old
• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift packages that could weigh up to 85 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
• Basic English communication skills

• Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (we provide training)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
