Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Transfer Driver in Butte, Montana, to transport equipment between centers, dealerships and repair shops, while conducting timely and accurate inspections and keeping driver logs up to date.

You will work with U-Haul’s managed processes and tools to support customers and ensure the fleet remains in top condition. Training is provided and promotion opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate mobile transfer apps.
• DOT certification may be required; U-Haul can sponsor it.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Fill in receipt and intake paperwork electronically.
• Transport equipment between U-Haul centers, dealerships and repair shop.
• Perform visual inspections of equipment.
• Maintain a driver log.
• Assist in other areas as directed by supervisor.

Transfer Driver Primary Responsibilities:

• Fill in receipt and intake paperwork electronically.
• Transport U-Haul equipment between U-Haul centers, dealerships and the repair shop.
• Perform visual inspections of equipment.
• Maintain a driver log.
• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.

Transfer Driver Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license
• Able to use mobile transfer programs
• D.O.T. certification if required-can be sponsored by U-Haul
• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
