Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of related clinical experience in an acute care setting (ED or Critical Care preferred)
• RN License in the states where the HCA facilities for that Division are located; multi-state license may be required
• Knowledge of hospital operations and patient care practices
• Demonstrated skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, prioritization, negotiation, conflict resolution, proactive decision making
• Ability to establish collaborative working relationships and communicate effectively
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity with EMTALA and state/national regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, internet searches, and relevant databases

Responsibilities

• Performs transfer center functions with centralized patient placement.
• Coordinates transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to final destination facilities.
• Facilitates patient throughput with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff to optimize patient movement.
• Maintains accurate patient data in records and center systems.
• Communicates professionally with referring facilities and receiving hospitals.
• Participates in bed management and daily transfer center meetings.
