Job summary

Baxter Health is seeking a Laboratory Compliance Coordinator to support the Laboratory Director in ensuring effective management of the assigned section’s activities and assets, including supervision of personnel and charge capture/compliance duties.

You will work on procedures for patient specimens with a strong emphasis on safety, quality assurance and regulatory guidelines, and collaborate with the director on data management, QA, regulatory tasks and other essential department operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with CAP/CLIA science coursework.
• 12 months of on-the-job experience without attending a program or holding a qualified certification.
• Specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in clerical/administrative areas.
• Preferred: transcription or healthcare coding certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel performing assigned laboratory activities and manage section assets and charge capture/compliance duties.
• Perform procedures on patient specimens with careful attention to safety, quality assurance, and regulatory guidelines, including documentation of results.

Job description

SUMMARY:Under the leadership of the Laboratory Director and Coordinator, ensure that all activities and assets of assigned section(s) are effectively managed in order to achieve departmental and organizational goals. This includes supervision of personnel performing those activities & charge capture/ compliance duties.

Responsible for procedures on various patient specimens giving careful attention to safety, quality assurance and regulatory guidelines including documentation of results. Work closely with lab director for data management, QA, PI, regulatory & other duties necessary for the smooth operation of the department.

BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards and policies.

Required to work with the Director of Laboratory regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Laboratory Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with sufficient science classes to meet CAP/CLIA requirements

Experience: 12 months on the job experience without attending a program or having a qualified certification

Other: Specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G., clerical/administrative

Preferred Education: Any certification useful to the job to include Transcription and/or Healthcare Coding

Laboratory Department or Clinic setting, within a hospital environment

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Hospital floor lab staff: Shifts can vary from 8, 10- or 12-hour shifts depending on days, evenings, nights, or weekend staffing

Office staff: 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts.
