Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks a Corporate Counsel to support transactions for Hyatt-franchised and Hyatt-managed hotels in North America. The role reports to the transactions team in Chicago, with a 3-day-in-office requirement.

The ideal candidate has 4–8+ years of transactional experience, including hotel-related agreements, in a law firm or in-house setting. Strong collaboration skills and business acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-8+ years of experience in transactional practice in a law firm or in-house department.
• Juris Doctorate and U.S. licensure required.
• Leadership and accountability track record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Advise on and handle commercial matters including hotel ownership, franchise relationships, and management agreements.
• Support development, asset management, financings, restructurings, and portfolio transactions.
• Advise on owner/franchisee relationships and contract renewals; dispute avoidance/resolution.
• Structure and conduct diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and hotel openings/operations.
• Negotiate hotel transitions between managed and franchised properties; coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and outside counsel to achieve objectives.
