The BNOF Finance & Legal job function develops and implements financial and legal strategies in order to assist in securing long-term profitable growth.

PURPOSE OF JOB

From the Group and Finance strategy, as a business partner, the Transactional Accounting General Accountant is responsible for executing the overall transactional accounting strategy within the country of the Group of companies. The Accounting and Reporting Transactional General Accountant has the responsibility for reconciling and performing accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure timely, accurate, and relevant financial statements for a multi-billion-dollar operation in the United States.

Core Responsibilities

Supports and performs transactional accounting operations and the financial close process to ensure relevant, complete, accurate and timely financial and management reporting.

Prepares the month-end reconciliation of transactional accounting and related balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

Executes highly specialized transactional accounting procedures, while supporting with subject matter expertise and policy support regarding the adoption and implementation of all applicable internal and external accounting pronouncements and requirements.

Provides financial guidance to management and operations, while identifying changes to create efficient and value-added processes.

Assists with annual audit of transactional accounting processes, including review and follow-up on audit findings and recommendations.

Prepares and reviews external reporting required for governmental agencies on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Supports the global accounting function in the creation, adaptation and review of proposed global common accounting rules and recommendations to transactional accounting.

Executes the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the internal control processes across all the diverse areas of the transactional accounting functions.

Develops effective working relationships with all levels of the organization within finance, tax, and legal.

Demonstrates a consistent commitment to operational units by responding quickly, minimizing tasks, and proactively seeking ways to help operational co-workers focus on the customer.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree master’s Degree in accounting. Preferred Minimum Years of Experience: 2

  • Experienced in implementing a transactional accounting governance and compliance strategy.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of transactional accounting management principles, along with a combination of large multi- national accounting firm experience and large multi-state/multinational corporate experience.
  • Knowledge of transactional accounting and increasing transactional accounting experience in a complex
  • global organization with a successful track record of meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency, implementing accounting pronouncements and accounting research.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Knowledge of internal transactional accounting group operating procedures, processes, and controls as well as management of external advisors.
  • Knowledge of communicating complex accounting issues in clear terms to non-financial personnel.
