Job summary

UHY in Detroit seeks a Financial Due Diligence professional to support buy-side and sell-side engagements for middle-market clients. You will collect financial data, analyze margins and trends, and assist in preparing reports for client delivery.

Travel to client sites may be required. CPA and 2–3 years of relevant experience are preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration with senior staff and opportunities to mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance with strong academic performance.
• 2 - 3 years of audit / corporate finance / transaction advisory service experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute financial due diligence engagements (buy-side and sell-side) with senior team input.
• Collaborate with clients, target management teams and senior colleagues.
• Collect financial information and manage due diligence request lists.
• Perform analyses (margin, trends, cash proofs, reconciliations) and prepare key reports.
• Present findings and support advisory recommendations to clients.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to project leadership.
• Assist with capital raising, restructuring and transactional strategies as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

This role will be focused on performing buy- and sell-side financial due diligence services on behalf of a broad range of financial and strategic buyers & sellers as well as privately-held business owners (sell-side diligence) within the dynamic middle market. JOB DESCRIPTION

Execute financial due diligence (buy-side and sell-side) engagements including:

• Working collaboratively with senior team members, clients, and target business management teams
• Collecting financial information from the target business / managing the diligence request list
• Performing financial analyses on the target business (margin assessments, trend analysis, price volume analysis, cash proofs, key data reconciliations, etc.)
• Actively participate in management discussions and correspondence
• Prepare key deal analyses (Quality of Earnings, Net Working Capital, Debt & Debt-Like, etc.)
• Writing reports and supporting delivery of findings to clients
• Cultivate key client relationships through advisory work
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to junior team members
• Exposure to transactional support for capital raising, restructuring, and traditional sell-side investment banking transactions and strategies

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance with strong academic performance

2 - 3 years of audit / corporate finance / transaction advisory service experience
