Job Summary

The Transaction Advisory Services Experienced Manager will be responsible for managing financial, accounting, and operational due diligence engagements for both strategic and financial buyers throughout the United States.

Job Duties
  • Plans and oversees the due diligence process and applies BDO standards to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality services.
  • Analyzes financial forecasts, historical earnings, assets, and liabilities of target clients.
  • Performs industry and company research.
  • Collects information from all available sources related to the target client’s business, securities, intellectual properties, real estate and other assets.
  • Conducts on-site and/or phone interviews with C-level personnel to gather additional information to support the financial analysis.
  • Assists in identifying risks and issues related to integration planning, timelines and functional areas.
  • Identifies and proposes appropriate resolutions to critical issues related to the M&A process.
  • Composes financial analysis reports for presentations to assist target clients in evaluating M&A decisions.
  • Manages the relationship and information flow between BDO and the target client.
  • Partners with Transactional Services Senior Manager and Principal/Director to identify and pursue business development opportunities.
  • Researches and develops proposal documents and may participate in presentations to acquire new clients.
  • Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Schedules and supervises tasks and project assignments of Analysts.
  • Reviews work product prepared by Analysts and provides review comments.
  • Acts as a Career Advisor to Analysts by identifying and providing on-the-job and formal training and professional development opportunities.
  • Provides verbal and written performance feedback to Analysts throughout the fiscal year and during the annual performance review process.
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance (required).
  • MBA (preferred).
Experience
  • Six (6) or more years of public accounting experience (required).
  • Three (3) or more years of prior TAS experience (preferred).
  • Prior experience interacting and working directly with C-level personnel (preferred).
Licenses & Certifications
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or CA (preferred).
Software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (required).
  • Prior exposure utilizing IDEA (beneficial, preferred).
Other Skills & Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and business writing aptitude.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to all levels of management.
  • Exhibits executive presence.
  • Capable of initiating and maintaining solid relationships with all levels of client personnel and using network relationships for business development.
  • Can work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment independently or within a team.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data and propose appropriate resolutions.
  • Ensures confidentiality of information.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting; knowledge of IFRS desirable.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Salary Range

Massachusetts: $130,000 - $160,000
New Jersey: $130,000 - $160,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $140,000 - $170,000
