Job summary

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Trainium NKI Kernel Expert to evaluate the quality and correctness of NKI development tasks used to train advanced AI models. You will deliver rubric-based feedback on each task, focusing on CUDA-to-NKI migration fidelity and cross-platform numerical correctness.

The role is listed as entry level, yet requires 2+ years of hands-on NKI kernel development experience. This is a US-based, part-time contractor position with English-language work and a compensation of $70–$90

Qualifications

At least 2 years of hands-on NKI kernel development for AWS Trainium or Inferentia2.
Strong understanding of NKI tile-based computation, SBUF, PSUM, and DMA orchestration.
Familiarity with NeuronCore-v2 architecture and FP32/BF16/FP8/INT8 data types.
Experience evaluating CUDA-to-NKI migration quality and performance bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

Evaluate NKI kernel tasks for quality, correctness, and hardware appropriateness on AWS Trainium and Inferentia2.
Assess CUDA-to-NKI migration fidelity and identify performance bottlenecks.
Define cross-platform numerical-correctness standards for GPU and Trainium implementations.
Provide rubric-based written feedback on each task.
