Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dog Trainer to join our team at the Animal Activity Center. This individual will be responsible for conducting both private training sessions and group classes while delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate is confident in their training skills, communicates effectively with clients, and is passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Client Work

• Conduct private training sessions tailored to individual client needs
• Lead group training classes (puppy, basic obedience, etc.)
• Evaluate dog behavior and develop customized training plans

Administrative and Operational Duties

Qualifications

• Experience working with a variety of breeds, temperaments, and behavioral issues

• Comfortable leading both private sessions and group classes

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

• Strong foundation in positive reinforcement training methods as a primary approach
• Experience using reward-based tools such as treats, clickers, and toys to reinforce desired behaviors
• Certifications such as AKC CGC Evaluator, CPDT-KA, or similar
• Experience in a daycare, boarding, or veterinary setting
