Job summary

Madison-Kipp Corporation seeks a Training Specialist to design, coordinate, and deliver training programs for clerical, supervisory, and production staff. You will ensure safety, quality, and operational training across facilities.

Responsibilities include onboarding, LMS management, and collaboration with SMEs to keep materials current. Occasional travel between Wisconsin and Indiana facilities is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years experience training in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or ATD certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and conducts employee training on skills, policy, and compliance; sets up training rooms and AV equipment.
  • Facilitates company classroom and virtual training needs; coordinates sessions and attendees.
  • Researches training needs and evaluates existing programs for improvements.
  • Collaborates with mentors and SMEs to deliver quality training and coaching.
  • Manages the Skill Based Training Program and scheduling of retraining as needed.
  • Drives training projects derived from facility consulting, design and facilitation needs.
  • Designs learning materials including work instructions, policies, and e-learning.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Specialist will organize, facilitate, design and deliver training programs for employees including clerical, supervisory, technical, and lower-level management staff. Performs a key role in ensuring proper training and development of production team in the areas of safety, quality, and operations.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plans, organizes, and effectively conducts employee training on various skills, policy, and compliance areas. Facilitates delivery of training by reserving and setting up needed audiovisual equipment and training rooms; scheduling training times with attendees; preparing and distributing training aids such as handouts; and performing other related tasks.
  • Facilitates company classroom & virtual training needs
  • Researches and identifies areas in which training is required and/or beneficial.
  • Evaluates and modifies existing programs; suggests and implements suitable changes.
  • Collaborates with OJT’s and Mentors to deliver quality training. Trains and coaches OJT’s and Mentors as needed to increase quality of training.
  • Responsible for monitoring Skill Based Training Program; arranges retraining or other appropriate action as needed.
  • Drives company project initiatives within assigned facility
  • Conduct 90-day onboarding check-ins to ensure training execution within facility
  • Consult with SME’s to update and maintain technical instructions.
  • Manage training projects involving derived from facility consultation, design, and facilitation needs.
  • Design facility learning needs including work instructions, policies, one-point lessons, e-learning material, and instructor led training.
  • Designs, drafts, and/or acquires new training materials utilizing company authoring tools. Revises curriculum as needed.
  • Work with OJTs and mentors to update as needed: training checklists & training objectives for production.
  • Collect and report out on supervisor & Onboarding training check-in’s and take corrective actions.
  • Manage LMS to maintain training records for all employees.
  • Develop periodic training project status reports.
  • Manage facility training completion percentage within LMS along with applicable weekly reporting

WORKING CONDITIONS

Heavy Manufacturing Environment. MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years experience training in a manufacturing experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or ATD certification a plus.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
