Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Training Specialist to design and implement training programs, manage a team, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive employee performance and compliance across production and site activities.

Responsibilities include developing plans aligned with business objectives, coordinating with regional/global teams, and continuously improving training using evidence-based methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, adult learning, organizational development or equivalent.
  • 5 years of previous training or training coordinating experience.
  • 1-3 years leading or supervising a team.
  • Strong written English and ability to create training materials.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook).
  • Data-driven to measure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interface with management and key business stakeholders to determine training needs.
  • Develop training plans aligned to business objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional and global training teams to deliver corporate initiatives.
  • Manage training department staff including performance management.
  • Oversee design of training programs and schedules based on needs and processes.
  • Oversee annual compliance training programs.
  • Research new training technologies to innovate.
  • Develop training effectiveness programs to monitor success.
  • Coordinate on-the-job training with supervisors/managers.
  • Lead selection and management of outside consultants and trainers.
  • Maintain training records in compliance with company standards.
  • Evaluate training for evidence of effectiveness.
  • Ensure training is interactive and aligns with adult learning theory.

Vestas is the energy industry's global partner in sustainable energy solutions. We design, manufacture, install, and service wind turbines. Since 2010, the Nacelles Factory in Brighton has proudly manufactured nacelles (engines) and hubs for wind turbines within 265,000 square feet of production space.

Training Specialist
General Purpose:

The Training Specialist develops the training tactical plan. Interfaces directly with stakeholders for requirements which are converted into training programs supporting business requirements. Responsible for direct supervision of a Team that delivers, plans, schedules and develops employee training that results in effective employee performance related to training programs. Performs a variety of administrative activities including database management, drafting reports, and presentations to Leadership teams.

  • Oversee and report on the annual compliance training programs

  • Utilize continuous improvement approach to evolve training programs for competitiveness
  • Coordinate on the job training with the new employee’s supervisor/manager
  • Lead the research, selectionand management ofoutside consultants and trainers to conduct training in specific topics
  • Maintaintrainingrecordsforattendance in compliance withCompanystandards
  • Evaluate training for evidence of the effectiveness of training perCompanyguidelines
  • Work to keep training programs interactive and designed based upon adult learning theoryin order toengage trainees
  • Must be able to work different shifts tosupport training requirementsas needed

Essential Functions:
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point,Outlookand SAP)
  • Ability tolead anddeliver training material individually or in classroom settings
  • Ability toManage a Team
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally to express oneself clearly
  • Ability to effectivelyleadacross-functional team
  • Ability toestablishtargets and translate them into actionable planswith the department
  • Ability to interactfrequentlywith others in a professional, courteous manner
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree inhuman resources, education,adult learning,organizationaldevelopmentor equivalent discipline
  • 5years ofprevioustrainingortraining coordinatingexperience in curriculum design,developmentand delivery
  • 1-3 years Leading orSupervising a team
  • Knowledge of techniques and philosophies of adult education
  • High levelof written English. Ability to create training programs,instructionsand training manuals at theappropriate level. Ability to effectively present information in large classes, one-on-one and small group situations to other employees,supervisorsand managers in the organization
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,Visioand Outlook)
  • Strong ability torespectfullychallengecolleagues and consultants across demographics
  • Creativity in developing engaging and effective training materials
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills arerequired
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projectsin accordance withstated deadlines
  • Data-driven to measure and achieve operational excellence

Salary - $90K - $110K

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required tosit; use of hands and fingers to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employeeis occasionally required tosit and walk; must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
