Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Training Manager in the US (NC) to drive adoption of training programs, design and deliver cross-functional content, and align with business objectives. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, coaching, and ensuring quality training systems across the site.

You will partner with managers and SMEs to implement interventions, lead training plans, and contribute to training structure while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Education or related field with 4+ years of training in a regulated industry.
  • Experience applying cLEAN methodologies to improve operations and training effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate training programs aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional training initiatives and standardize development through Training for Competency (TFC).
  • Assess training needs, set priorities and manage milestones.
  • Schedule and coordinate training events with managers and SMEs.
  • Develop interventions for technical, leadership and personal development.
  • Coach trainers to ensure robust support and quality training systems.
  • Coordinate training delivery and promote Best Practices across the site.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and monitor KPIs; participate in audits as needed.
  • Follow Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities.
  • Lead training development workshops locally or globally.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

The Position

Drive the implementation and adoption of NNPILP training programs and standards by designing, delivering and evaluating cross-functional training content. Ensure alignment with business objectives and operational targets while continuously improving and maintaining the local training program in accordance with established training standards.


Relationships

Reports to Senior Manager.


Essential Functions


  • Lead initiatives and align training approaches across the business to include supporting standardized development through Training for Competency (TFC) initiatives

  • Assess training needs, set priorities and execute actions to meet program milestones

  • Implement training schedules for employees, establishing review dates aligned with their roles

  • Partner with managers and area subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop interventions for technical, leadership and personal development, to include reporting out training plan and project status to other stakeholders (QA, production shift management, established training workshop teams, etc)

  • Lead the execution of training plans, contributing to the site's training structure

  • Train and coach trainers to ensure robust support within departments and maintain quality training systems

  • Conduct and coordinate training, promoting a culture of shared Best Practices across the site

  • Apply training principles to evaluate effectiveness, conduct needs analyses and improve methods continually

  • Establish and monitor training KPIs to track progress while participating in internal audits as needed

  • Perform all duties ethically and compliantly, incorporating the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in every interaction

  • Lead or participate in training development workshops locally or globally

  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

  • Other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required. Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role).


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education or related field of study from an accredited university required with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant training experience in a regulated industry required, preferably in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment

  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree with four (4) years' experience, may consider an Associate's degree in human resources, Education, or related field of study from an accredited university required with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant training experience in a regulated industry required, preferably in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment

  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree with four (4) years' experience, may consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant training experience in a regulated industry required, preferably in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in applying cLEAN methodologies and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness required

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, to include implementing and evaluating training programs to support employee development and organizational goals required

  • Proven ability to coach, mentor and lead engaging training sessions and workshops required

  • Ability to organize, coordinate and track multiple tasks and events and to work in an orderly and methodical manner required

  • Working knowledge and background with ISOtrain or other Learning Management Systems preferred
