Medical Assistant – Residents have accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant resident will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.

Medical Assistant – Residents have accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant resident will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior CNA or EMT or other clinic work experience for this training position.

This position will require enrollment in a Medical Assistant program within 6 months of hire and completion of the program by one year of enrollment.

Clinic is located in beautiful Butte, Montana.

Hours: Either 4 or 5 days a week schedule. If a 4 days a week, will be a mid week day off - hours 7:45 am. to 5:45 p.m.. If 5 days a week hours 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Would need to travel to Boulder, Montana to cover on occasion. We will pay mileage for this trip. May be required to work in other areas as needed.

Role

As a Medical Assistant Resident at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:

  • Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
  • Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.
Medical Assistant Resident Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare provider
  • Required to enroll in a Medical Assistant program within six months of hire and complete within twelve months of enrollment.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a clinical role (EMT, CNA, Medic, paramedic)
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
