Job summary

Snack Innovations in New Jersey seeks a Training & Development Coordinator to lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for a GMP-driven manufacturing workforce.

You will partner with plant leadership and HR to deliver onboarding, leadership development, and cross-training, ensuring compliant, effective programs that drive safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in training and development within a manufacturing environment.
  • GMP, CPG, and food manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating development programs.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and build relationships.
  • Experience creating training materials and SOPs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and LMS or similar platforms.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Role Overview

The Training & Development Coordinator is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training and development programs that support a skilled, engaged, and high-performing workforce in a GMP and CPG manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with plant leadership and Human Resources to ensure employees receive the training, resources, and development opportunities needed to perform safely, effectively, and in compliance with GMP standards.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who is passionate about developing people and building learning programs that support both employee growth and operational excellence. This individual enjoys working closely with employees on the production floor, coaching leaders, and creating practical learning solutions that are relevant to a fast-paced CPG manufacturing operation. They understand the importance of consistent training, documentation, and compliance while helping employees build the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Core Responsibilities
Learning & Development
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve training programs for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Identify organizational training needs and develop learning solutions that support business objectives.
  • Design and facilitate leadership development programs to strengthen supervisory and management capabilities.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on employee performance, feedback, and business needs.
New Hire Onboarding & Orientation
  • Lead the development and coordination of new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Partner with Human Resources and department leaders to ensure consistent and engaging onboarding experience.
  • Coordinate training schedules and ensure new employees complete required onboarding and job-specific training.
  • Monitor onboarding effectiveness and recommend enhancements to improve employee retention and engagement.
Operational & Technical Training
  • Partner with plant operations and department leaders to develop and maintain job‑specific training programs and standard work instructions.
  • Coordinate cross‑training initiatives to support workforce flexibility and succession planning.
  • Ensure training materials remain current and aligned with operational processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain training records and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness.
Leadership Development & Employee Growth
  • Partner with Human Resources and plant leadership to support performance development initiatives.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on employee development, coaching techniques, and effective feedback.
  • Support succession planning by identifying development opportunities for high‑potential employees.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth throughout the organization.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure all required safety, quality, compliance, and regulatory training is completed and documented.
  • Monitor training compliance and maintain accurate training records.
  • Analyze training metrics and workforce development data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay current on learning methodologies, training technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in training, learning and development, organizational development, or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience supporting training within a GMP, CPG, food manufacturing required.
  • Experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating employee and leadership development programs.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience developing training materials, standard operating procedures, and instructional content.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other training platforms preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, safety, and compliance training in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) required.
