Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, education, human resources, communication, business or related field.
  • Requires a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Requires reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
  • Requires one (1) year of experience as a trainer or educator.
  • Experience training in a non-profit mental health organization or child welfare preferred.
  • DPS, DFPS, FBI, CBCU Eligibility Determination, and Child Abuse Clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures content meets contract, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Schedules classes, tracks assessments, and uploads completions.
  • Maintains training histories/transcripts and provides reports to ensure regulatory compliance.

Job description

The Training Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to support the learning objectives and training plans for Texas Family Care Network employees. This position is responsible for developing and implementing training activities that are compliant with state, licensing, and accreditation standards and promote organization initiatives and emerging practices. The Training Coordinator will perform all job duties in a service-oriented manner that demonstrates and emphasizes kind and respectful behavior, purposeful connection, and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Support/Service Delivery
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop courses, including researching, gathering, and analyzing relevant content to clarify learning objectives.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools to plan training content, ensuring organization branding and leadership approval.
  • Facilitates small and large group training activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging instructional methods and technologies and integrate into existing training.
  • Applies adult learning theories to create a practical and nationally consistent training experience that directly impacts employee success.
  • Recommends and executes the development and implementation of learning programs and deliverables such as instructor led, eLearning, blended, or other media by using various software applications considering audience, business needs, and requirements.
  • Prepares to be well versed and knowledgeable about the subject mater of training content and/or systems.
  • Creates, revises, and maintains content housed in the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Supports the training classes and acts as a subject matter expert on the content that’s being delivered.
  • Ensures instructional content meets contract, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Manages time appropriately based on priorities of delivering training and projects as assigned.
  • Quality Improvement
  • Reviews policy updates and revises curriculum accordingly.
  • Updates CSE-IT protocol to align with TFCN standards.
  • Refreshes activities, PowerPoints and classroom materials.
  • Collaborates with SMEs and the Learning Architect on Improvements.
  • Research and initiate corrections and improvements to existing course catalog.
  • Develop supporting materials for learning activities such as quick reference guides, FAQs, handouts, job aids, trainer, and participant guides.
  • Communication
  • Schedule classes, assign assessments, and upload completions.
  • Maintain cohort trackers and training progress in Brainier.
  • Respond to training mailbox inquiries and assist with LMS questions.
  • Maintain updated calendar invites and room reservations.
  • Collaborate with LMS Admin for corrections or troubleshooting.
  • Supervision
  • Receive supervision.
  • Receive supervision from and actively communicate with supervisor on an ongoing basis throughout the week by phone, email, written message and when possible, in person regarding program matters.
  • Leadership
  • Demonstrate knowledge of organization’s culture, values, principles, and practices and aligns trainings to reinforce these practices.

  • Documentation
  • Maintaining updated and accurate employee training histories/transcripts.
  • Provide and monitor training reports to ensure compliance with contract, state, and federal regulations.

  • Reports expenses and provides supporting documentation.
  • Adheres to deadlines for expense reports.
  • Risk Management and Safety
  • Perform all duties within contract, state, and federal regulations, Texas Family Care Network policy, and COA standards.

Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands:
  • This position requires operating a keypad device 75% of the day and electronic/office equipment 25% of the day. Frequent travel throughout the organization may be required daily along with travel by plane and may include travel in weather conditions – 50%. Fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, elbows, legs and feet are all routinely used throughout the day. The lower and upper torso is used 75% of the day. Employee must meet minimum requirements for hearing, speech, and vision. Walking is required 25% of the day. Standing occurs 50% of the day. Sitting happens 50% of the day. Reaching above the shoulder as well as bending and twisting are performed 25% of the day. This function routinely lifts under 25 pounds. The maximum lift is 50 pounds, 1 time per day.
