Job summary

Labcorp in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking a Technical Training Coordinator II to onboard new employees and provide ongoing training on policies, Lab Information Systems, and department competencies. The role supports quality and service metrics and may require travel across California.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a CA phlebotomy license, and 3+ years of phlebotomy experience; preferred in-training experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding of new employees as well as initial training to ensure a positive new hire experience.
  • Provide on-going group and individualized training for purposes of work performance enhancement and general education.
  • Deliver training in the areas of company and department policies and procedures, department related competencies and Lab Information Systems.
  • Develop and implement appropriate resources and programs to accomplish training objectives.
  • Evaluate and update existing training materials and plans.
  • Serve as a procedural and compliance resource for department employees.
  • Support leadership with their goals in relation to quality and service metrics.
  • Assist with the creation of improvement plans for underperforming employees.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for all trainings conducted.

LabCorp is seeking a Technical Training Coordinator II to join our team at 1218 Rossmoor Parkway, Walnut Creek, CA 94595. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, additional days and hours may be required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees as well as initial training to ensure a positive new hire experience
  • Provide on-going group and individualized training for purposes of work performance enhancement and general education
  • Deliver training in the areas of company and department policies and procedures, department related competencies and Lab Information Systems
  • Develop and implement appropriate resources and programs to accomplish training objectives
  • Evaluate and update existing training materials and plans
  • Serve as a procedural and compliance resource for department employees
  • Support leadership with their goals in relation to quality and service metrics
  • Assist with the creation of improvement plans for underperforming employees
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for all trainings conducted
  • Provide training with respect and professionalism at all times
  • Assist with the workflow during times of high volume or when coverage is needed
  • May travel to client sites and other branches to assist in training
  • Research industry related information when necessary
  • Additional administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License
  • 3 years or more Phlebotomy experience drawing patients of all ages
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years or more experience in training
Additional Job Standards:
  • In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the CA Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and time management skills
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Flexibility to travel throughout California for training purposes
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay Range: $23.00 - $35.00. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits:
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
