Supports the Center's efforts to provide continuing education, in-service training, and professional development related to juvenile justice and juvenile delinquency prevention.Coordinates training schedules, deliveries, host agencies, instructors, travel, and related logistics. Delivers and facilitates training as a lead instructor; serves as a subject matter specialist in assigned areas; supports curriculum development and refinement; recruits adjunct instructors and monitors their performance; develops, updates, and refines project budgets; and coordinates special events and related training activities.Works with internal divisions, Prairie View A&M University offices, host agencies, and external organizations to support training opportunities, continuing education activities, training certifications, and assigned training projects.Responsibilities:Coordinate and Deliver TrainingCoordinates and supports training deliveries for assigned projects and programs.Delivers training as a lead instructor in support of assigned project areas and other division training classes.Facilitates training courses for juvenile justice professionals, criminal justice professionals, social service professionals, parents, youth, and other stakeholders.Serves as a subject matter specialist for assigned training and curriculum development areas.Assists in the design of new course curricula and the review, refinement, and updating of current curricula.Supports subject matter expert requirements associated with curriculum design efforts, including web-based learning and other instructional formats.Assists other program areas with training deliveries associated with specialized knowledge areas.Recruits contractors and monitors performance in support of assigned training needs.Assists with the marketing and promotion of training classes and professional development opportunities.Coordinate Training Schedules, Logistics, and BudgetsCoordinates training schedules, venues, host agencies, instructors, and training deliveries for assigned projects.Works with points of contact at host agencies and partner organizations to coordinate training requirements and logistics.Schedules and coordinates travel for personnel supporting assigned training activities.Supports training delivery through in-person, virtual, asynchronous, synchronous, hybrid, and other instructional formats.Develops, updates, and refines project budgets for assigned training projects and activities.Coordinates, plans, and manages special events and other training-related activities.Maintains training schedules, records, and other documentation related to assigned training activities.Support Training Development and CollaborationWorks with researchers to support research and evidence-based information into training curricula and evaluation activities.Works to support policy through the communication and training of policy-related information to end users.Works to connect individuals and organizations with relevant training opportunities through available programming.Coordinates with the Continuing Education Office at Prairie View A&M University and other organizations to support continuing education, professional development, and training certification activities.Works with juvenile justice and related organizations to coordinate continuing education units, training certifications, and other professional development requirements.Assists with the identification, coordination, and promotion of training opportunities and partnerships, including revenue-generating training activities, as assigned.Supports training activities designed to reduce juvenile delinquency through the delivery of research-based and approved curricula.Other DutiesPerforms other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.Two years of related experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.Ability to assist in the design of new course curricula and update current curricula.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in juvenile justice, criminal justice, psychology, social work, public administration, education, or a related field.Three to five years of experience in juvenile justice, youth development, training coordination or delivery, or a related field.Experience developing, delivering, facilitating, updating, or coordinating training curricula and programs, including adult learning, instructional design, web-based learning, or training logistics.Experience working with state agencies, juvenile probation departments, law enforcement agencies, schools, youth-serving organizations, or other related stakeholders, with familiarity with the Texas juvenile justice system and statewide training programs or infrastructure.Knowledge of evidence-based practices related to juvenile delinquency prevention, youth behavioral health, trauma-informed practices, or related areas.Experience with program development, evaluation, applied research, grant writing or management, and/or grant-funded programs, including familiarity with Title II Formula Grants, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention requirements, federal grant requirements, or related compliance frameworks.Experience coordinating instructors, training schedules and deliveries, host agencies, travel and event logistics, and project budgets; and strong oral and written communication, organizational, project coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet established deadlines.Job Posting Close Date:09/25/2026Required Attachments:Please attach all required documents listed below in the attachment box labeled as either “Resume/CV or Resume/Cover Letter” on the application.
