Job summary

NASDA is seeking a Trainer to support agricultural data collection by providing technical and training expertise to enumerators. You will deliver classroom, phone, and computer-based training and help develop training strategies with the leadership team.

The role requires high school graduation with 3+ years of training or technical support experience, strong presentations, and proficiency with iPads and Microsoft Office tools.

• Knowledge of agriculture is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for enumerators' IT equipment and software (iPads, iSolved, iHire, CAPI, Microsoft).
• Develop and deliver training with leadership input.
• Advise and mentor enumerators on training needs and best practices.
• Deliver classroom, phone, and computer-based training as needed.
• Collaborate to identify training needs and strategies to address them.
• Protect statistical data and ensure proper handling of records.

Trainer Job Description

As a Trainer for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA), you will be responsible for providing a crucial role in serving our agricultural producers by providing reliable, accurate, and objective statistics and information that farmers, ranchers, and rural communities depend on. You will provide technical and data collection support for enumerators tasked with collecting data on behalf of the National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS). About The Position

The Trainer reports to the Associate Director and has no direct reports.

The Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for enumerators' IT equipment (iPads) and software systems and platforms including iSolved, iHire, CAPI, and Microsoft
• Work as a team member in developing training in relevant areas
• Collaborate with the leadership team to provide advice, guidance, and counsel to all enumerators
• Provide classroom, phone, and computer-based training as needed
• Collaborate with the Associate Director to identify training needs and develop strategies to address them
• Enforces security regulations to protect statistical data collected; ensures proper maintenance, preservation, and disposal of all official statistical records

Qualifications

• Able to pass a federal background check
• A high school diploma and minimum 3 years' experience providing training and/or technical support to employees are required
• Some knowledge of agriculture and agricultural issues is desired
• Proficient in using equipment such as iPads and cloud-based data collection and communication systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Knowledge of effective training methods and techniques sufficient to oversee and monitor instructional programs
• Exceptional critical thinking skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve problems
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong presentations skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented work environment

SALARY RANGE

Starting at $23.50 an hour.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a Part-time, non-exempt position working approximately 20-30 hours per week not to exceed 375 hours per quarter. Position is considered remote, but candidates must reside in AL, FL, GA, KY, MO, NC, SC, or, TN.
