Job summary

The Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a Training and Development professional to coordinate and deliver a comprehensive range of training and education programs. You will design, develop and deliver instructional content, including new team orientation, while maintaining training records and calendars.

Requirements include an Associate degree (2-year), 3 years related experience, and strong knowledge of adult learning strategies; proficiency in MS Office.

Position Summary

Under general supervision performs routine and complex duties in the training and professional development area. Is an integral part of coordinating and conducting New Team Member Orientation. Conducts integrated training needs assessments; coordinates, develops, designs and delivers a comprehensive range of training and education programs for the Pueblo of Sandia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Delivers group and individual instruction and training covering a wide range of technical, operational, management/supervision and soft skill areas.
  • Builds and maintains live training slide decks and presentation materials using provided content or independently authored source material, applying organizational style guides and instructional design best practices.
  • Schedules workshops, seminars and informational sessions.
  • Coordinates/performs necessary administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training activities (photocopies, assembling training material, typing outlines etc.)
  • Coordinates and conducts New Team Member Orientation.
  • Works with supervisors and managers to determine training needs and develops programs to meet those needs.
  • Maintains contact with vendors, consultants and other service providers in various areas of training, i.e., management, health & safety and technical training.
  • Develops and distributes the monthly training calendar to all users.
  • Maintains and updates training and certification records for all team members.
  • Prepares and distributes training reports on a regular schedule and upon request to support departmental and organizational decision-making.
  • Notifies Managers/Supervisors of new employee orientation schedule and attendance requirements.
  • Responds to team member requests, questions, employment issues, provides basic policy and procedures support.
  • Provides backup to the Recruitment department as needed.
  • Strives to achieve performance excellence through job knowledge, experience, and focus on continued learning to gain expertise with all job requirements.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.

  • Must have proven experience in designing and delivering training programs and possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Required:

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field of study.
  • Three (3) years of experience directly related to the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position.

Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
