Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland is seeking a Trainee HGV Driver to join our team, ensuring timely collection and deliveries from customer sites while aiming to exceed expectations.

You will gain specialized knowledge to operate commercial vehicles, perform safety checks, and build experience through development opportunities and support from our network of sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of driving license category B - with no more than 6 points.
• Previous driving experience.
• A proactive approach to new training opportunities, and the ability to act on feedback to make improvements.
• Proactive approach to safety of company vehicles and other drivers.
• A polite manner at all times when visiting customer premises.
• Good geographical knowledge and industry experience (desirable).
• Knowledge of IT systems (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Working towards gaining specialised knowledge and skills to operate commercial vehicles for the transportation of goods.
• Ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before commencing any journey, as well as the safe loading, unloading and security of the vehicle load.
• Visiting customer locations, communicating with both internal and external customers.
• Ensuring that the legal and company safety requirements, alongside the working time directive regulations are adhered to at all time.
