Valley Health Partners in Allentown, PA is seeking a trained medical interpreter for the Children’s Clinic. This role provides interpreting services to ensure clear communication between LEP patients and clinic staff, supporting patients of all ages in a respectful, culturally aware environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of relevant experience, and at least 40 hours of medical interpreting training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of experience in human or health services is required.
• Bridging the Gap certification is preferred.
• Successfully completed at least 40 hours of medical interpreting training.

Job Summary:

Provides foreign language interpreting services to enable the understanding and successful communication between individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) and staff. Assists clinic staff by facilitating cross-cultural communication for non-English speaking patients of all ages.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 6 month of experience in human or health services
• More than 6 month of experience in human or health services preferred

Licensure / Certification:

• Successfully completed a minimum of 40 hours of medical interpreting training
• Bridging the Gap (BTG) Certification, preferred.
