Qualifications

• No experience required; six months in related roles preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to follow instructions and discern numbers for sorting.
• Ability to use basic equipment such as scanners, carts and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from unload/load doors and yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Demonstrate safe yard switching procedures and safety processes.
• May perform Package Handler duties: load/unload packages onto/off vehicles and sorting equipment.
• Sort packages by scanning labels, reading charts, and remembering information.
• Other duties as assigned.
