W&B Service Company has an excellent opportunity for a Trailer Technician in Laredo, TX. This full-time, non-exempt role involves preventative maintenance and repair of semi-trailers, brake systems, electrical systems, and chassis components.

The technician must have their own tools, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Safety and independent work are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude or construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Must have own tools.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail is key for this position.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and repair all systems on semi-trailers to meet DOT standards.
• Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and related parts.
• Repair electrical and lighting systems.
• Repair or replace chassis components such as springs, spring hangers, equalizers, sliders, axles, and sub-frames.
• Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assemblies.
• Repair flooring, rub rails, doors and door trim.
• Repair roofs, panels, and rails.
• Conform to safety and health standards.
