Job summary

Florida Utility Trailers is seeking a Trailer Technician at the Apopka facility to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair semi-trailers. You will complete safe, quality repairs efficiently, document work, and use company systems to record attendance and repair time.

Focus is on trailer systems, components, and structures; mobile service and diesel engine repair are outside scope. Requirements include experience with trailers or heavy equipment, ability to read repair instructions,

Qualifications

• Experience repairing semi-trailers or heavy equipment with knowledge of air brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and trailer components.
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete assigned repairs with limited supervision.
• Welding and fabrication experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and follow repair instructions and safety procedures.
• Willingness to use company systems to track time, assignments, and documentation.
• Own basic hand tools for trailer repair.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Dependable attendance and clear communication; ability to work independently and with teams.
• Experience with various trailer brands is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose trailer concerns and determine repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; document findings.
• Repair air braking and electrical systems; replace components and suspensions.
• Repair doors, roofs, floors, and structural components; weld as needed.
• Prepare clear repair notes and document parts used with photos or measurements.
• Use company timekeeping and service systems to record hours and update punches.
• Follow priorities, work safely and efficiently, and communicate needs or delays.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and protect customer equipment.
