Job summary

Charles Bailey Trucking, INC is seeking a self-motivated Trailer Mechanic Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of large tractor-trailers. You will inspect, diagnose, and service dry vans and reefers, ensuring roadworthiness and safety for our drivers.

Responsibilities include performing mechanical and electrical repairs, oil changes, brake and suspension work, tire and wheel-end maintenance, and welding/fabrication when needed. Strong communication with drivers is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of trailer systems including brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with drivers and colleagues to ensure seamless operations
• Ability to move, lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• A trailer mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs large tractor-trailers.
• Work on a variety of trailers such as dry vans and reefers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
• Ensure vehicles are roadworthy by performing basic care and maintenance, such as changing oil, checking fluid levels, brake systems, tires, lights, wheel end, chassis, and suspension repairs
• Repair refrigerated units
• Replace parts

Skills and qualifications

• Ability to move, lift 50 pounds working in close quarters. Stand for long periods of time and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently
• Experience preferred with welding and fabrication
• Communicate effectively with drivers and colleagues to ensure seamless operations
• The Trailer Mechanic Technician position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of our fleet trailers by performing repairs and routine maintenance tasks ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
