Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform DOT and PM inspections on trailers, and to handle preventive maintenance and repairs. The role requires basic computer skills for entering vehicle data and diagnosing equipment, plus welding and fabrication as needed.

Candidates should have a 1-year technical certificate or ASE Diesel Certification; a valid CDL license is required, with 3–6 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year certificate or equivalent; ASE Diesel Certification is an asset.
• Valid CDL license required; diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills for inputting vehicle info and diagnosing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT & PM inspections on trailers.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Correctly performs DOT & PM Inspections on trailers.All trailer preventative maintenance and repair.Tags all warranty parts with appropriate information to include cause of failure, mileage and removal date.Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum.Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.Basic computer skills to input vehicle information and diagnose equipment.Basic tools required.Trailer electrical work.Tests equipment for proper operations.Fix and repair tires, as necessary.Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, as necessary.Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.Must have current valid driver's license.Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
