J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Technician II in East Brunswick, NJ to perform intermediate maintenance and repair on trailers and equipment. You will troubleshoot issues under routine supervision to ensure fleet readiness and compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and assisting with trainee onboarding. The role requires outdoor work, shift flexibility, and strong safety practices within a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.

Job Summary: As a trailer technician II, you are responsible for performing intermediate maintenance, service and repair to J.B. Hunt trailers and other equipment. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2+ years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
• Basic welding skills (MIG and stick )
• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
• Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $26.20 - $39.30

This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation: Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
