Atlas Van Lines, part of Atlas Terminal Team, seeks an experienced Trailer Service Technician III to maintain and repair trailers, box trucks, and fleet equipment. Hands-on role emphasizing welding, body work, painting, and upfitting to ensure safe, reliable operations. Strong technical skills and attention to detail are essential.

The role involves performing inspections, collaborating with the Parts Department, and maintaining a clean, safe shop environment while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5-8 years of experience in vehicle repair, fleet maintenance, body work, or related field.
• Experience with trailers, box trucks, welding, painting, and vehicle upfitting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of repair techniques, body repair processes, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment, repair tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OSHA compliance and safety procedures.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on trailers, box trucks, and fleet equipment.
• Complete trailer and box truck upfitting projects (liftgates, truck bodies, storage systems).
• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting and vinyl installation, ensuring high-quality appearance.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools.
• Perform body repair, welding, painting, and basic mechanical work per specs.
• Collaborate with Parts Department to order and install parts.
• Verify quality and completeness of repairs before returning to service.
