V. Van Dyke, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team.

This role inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of trailer maintenance experience, possess basic hand tools, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of trailer mechanic experience.
  • Must provide basic hand tools.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on trailers and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair air brake systems, suspensions, wheel ends, hubs, bearings, and axles.
  • Repair or replace trailer decking, landing gear, and structural components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair trailer lighting, wiring, ABS systems, and electrical components.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Inspect and service tires, wheels, and rims.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
  • Service and maintain pony motors.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain maintenance records.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Respond to emergency roadside and yard repair situations as needed.
