Job summary

Colville Transport – Fairbanks, AK is seeking a Mechanic II for a full-time role in our professional shop. The position focuses on diagnosing and repairing trailers and heavy-duty systems, with opportunities for DOT inspections, welding, and structured maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

3–5 years of trailer and/or heavy-duty diesel repair experience.
Ability to perform intermediate to complex repairs with minimal supervision.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
Experience with air brake and suspension systems.
Welding experience (aluminum preferred).
ASE certification or diesel technology training preferred.
Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair tank trailers, flatbeds, and heavy-duty trailer systems.
Perform DOT annual inspections and preventative maintenance.
Repair brake systems, air systems, suspensions, lighting, wheel seals, and structural components.
Complete aluminum and steel welding repairs.
Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues with minimal supervision.
Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations.
