Aerotek is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Milwaukee to perform comprehensive trailer maintenance and repairs. You will diagnose mechanical issues, repair floors, doors, lift gates, suspensions, brakes, and lighting, and ensure DOT compliance.

The role requires independent work, strong troubleshooting, and adherence to PPE and safety procedures. Work onsite at the Milwaukee shop, with pay ranging from $25.00 to $35.00 per hour and a contract-to-hire path.

Formación

• Experience performing trailer repairs including floors, bodies, doors, and suspension components.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Hands-on maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions using handheld diagnostic tools and gauges.
• Experience repairing trailer lighting and ABS systems to maintain safety compliance.
• Ability to perform DOT inspections in accordance with regulations.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Clear, professional communication with customers and team members.
• Commitment to PPE requirements and safety procedures at all times.

Responsabilidades

• Perform floor repairs on trailers, including removal, replacement, and reinforcement of damaged sections.
• Install body and roof patches to repair structural damage and prevent leaks.
• Repair doors, lift gates, and hydraulic components; replace hardware and seal as needed.
• Carry out lift gate repairs including hydraulic hose replacement and troubleshooting.
• Repair suspensions, including air bags, torque arms, and springs.
• Replace landing gear components; ensure safe trailer support.
• Conduct complete brake jobs and replace brake components as needed.
• Replace wheel seals and inspect related components to prevent leaks.
• Repair trailer lighting systems and ABS for safety compliance.
• Inspect and test defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Use handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges for diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot and repair all makes and models of trailers; conduct DOT inspections.
• Communicate findings and recommended repairs to customers clearly.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety procedures; participate in safety meetings.
