Job description

Work Schedule:

Sunday-Thursday, overnight shift 10:30pm-7:00am.

Frito-Lay Fleet Technicians are essential to our team because they work on our fleet vehicles and keep our drivers safe. Are you looking for a job at a company that rewards the mechanically gifted? You may already be familiar with what this position entails. You will help us maintain and repair our vehicles, diagnose mechanical issues, manage parts inventory, and charge parts and labor to work orders. Our Fleet Technicians frequently perform tasks such as:

  1. Using your extensive knowledge to assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs.
  2. Building relationships with vendors for estimates on parts or labor.
  3. Interacting with a variety of Frito-Lay drivers, from professional truck drivers to salespeople.
  4. Working in tight spaces under vehicles, which is a physical job.
  5. Maintaining specific vehicle models including Peterbilt M220 / Freightliner M2, 6.7 Cummins ISB, Allison 2000, Volvo VNR Tractors, D13 / IShift, and multiple trailer platforms.
  6. Managing daily activities such as scheduling, prioritizing work, preventive maintenance inspections, and proactive repairs.
  7. Performing demand work including brakes, u-joints/bearings, steering/suspension, starting/charging, emissions/drivability diagnosis, and light engine repairs like water pumps, injectors, and fuel pumps.
Minimum Requirements:
  • You are at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to work on weekends, holidays, and off shifts if required.
  • Can lift 50 pounds or more with or without accommodation.
  • Capable of climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for extended periods.
  • Able to work in tight spaces for extended periods.
  • Willing to work on/under trucks for entire shifts (8-12 hours).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of technical experience with Class 8 Commercial Tractors and Trailers.
  • Air Brake Systems Certification.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot with diagnostic systems.
