Job summary

Advantage Trailer in Carol Stream, IL is seeking an experienced trailer mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers and related equipment. You will diagnose mechanical issues, conduct inspections, and work with customers to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience.
• Current and valid Driver’s License.
• Experience fixing bearings, brakes, axles, brake controllers, and wiring is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of trailer systems and components.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required.
• Proficiency in welding and torching techniques.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential problems.
• Repair or replace damaged components, such as bearings, brakes, lights, and suspension systems.
• Install standard and custom hitches, brake controllers and wiring.
• Install new snowplows, salt spreaders and wiring along with repairing old snow equipment.
