Job summary

Bruckner Truck & Equipment is seeking a trailer service technician to perform mechanical, electrical, and body repairs on semi-trailer equipment. Candidates must operate cutting and welding tools and read technical publications to guide service work.

The role requires using dealer management systems to document work, order parts, and ensure timely completion. OSHA-compliant safety practices and reliable attendance are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English and understand reports.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, body repairs on semi-trailers preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools anddealer management systems to order parts.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical publications and service bulletins.
• Determine usability of component parts and list and order needed parts using the DMS.
• Write detailed descriptions of repairs in the DMS.
• Perform repairs safely and in accordance with OSHA rules and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.

Must be able to properly use cutting and welding equipment.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESTrained to use all tools of trade, including precision instruments and technical shop machines and diagnostic tools.Use previous and on the job training to read and understand technical publications, including on-line service software and service bulletins. He/she must be able to use information contained in them to do their own work and to assist others concerning the content.He/She will learn to determine usability of all component parts and must be able to list and order all needed parts using the dealer management system.Must be able to complete work accurately and timely as outlined in published time standards guidelines.Must be able to write and/or type a good description of all work performed on each individual repair using the dealer management system.Ability to perform all aspects of the job safely and in accordance with OSHA and Bruckner’s rules and regulations expressed and implied.Understands the importance of attendance and punctuality and how it directly impacts customer service.Is a good steward of company tools and resources.Achieves and maintains certifications as required by the company, the OEM’s or by Federal Law.QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation & Experience:High School Diploma desired.Must possess and use good interpersonal skills to interact well with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.Must be able to read and write in English and understand computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.Must be able to operate various computer diagnostic devices, laptops, and tablets.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Involves essential ability to maneuver around, in, on and under trucks in order to properly inspect and diagnose all types of problems and repairs.Must be able to pass a physical and drug and alcohol screens during pre-employment screening, randomly and/or as requested throughout employment.Must be able to lift 50 pounds to the waist and 25 pounds to the shoulder.
