Chesapeake, Inc. seeks a qualified Traffic Signal Technician to support city infrastructure. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and relevant Electronics coursework or experience.

The candidate must hold a valid driver's license and be prepared to obtain a CDL learner's permit within 3 months and the Class B license within 6 months. Certification in Fall Protection is required within 1 year; IMSA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent to one year of college in electronics or related field.
• Minimum six months of related, full-time experience.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record compliant with City Driving Standards.
• Must obtain a CDL learner's permit within three months of hire and a CDL Class B license within six months of hire.
• Fall Protection certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
• IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification preferred.
• Employees may be required to work hours beyond normally scheduled hours in response to department needs or emergencies.

Required Qualifications

VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education in electronics or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Requires a valid driver’s license with a driving record in compliance with the City Driving Standards . Must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License ( CDL ) learner’s permit within three (3) months of hire and a CDL Class B license within six (6) months of hire. Fall Protection certification must be obtained within one (1) year of hire. International Municipal Signal Association ( IMSA ) Traffic Signal Technician certification is preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT : Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
