Curtis Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Signal Installer in Hampton, Virginia. The role includes outdoor installation of traffic signals, maintaining traffic flow in live environments, and handling heavy equipment.

Responsible for installation of signal equipment including trench, conduit, various concrete foundations, pulling signal cable, building and erecting mast poles and arms as well as span intersections (temporary and permanent installations).
Work is performed outdoors at construction sites, maintenance facilities, and outside environments with exposure to inclement weather. Moderate physical demands: strength sufficient to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds. May require repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing beside/onto/under a variety of equipment. Additional duties may be assigned.
This position requires a basic understanding of installation of traffic signals conforming to VDOT specs and standards, ability to operate a bucket truck, and working on live intersections while maintaining traffic flow.
18 years of age or older. This essential position may require reporting to work during inclement weather and during various work hours.
Knowledge of traffic signal equipment and associated hardware, ability to read and understand plans, OSHA rules and regulations, and safety standards. Must have knowledge of safe and efficient operation/maintenance of small construction equipment, bucket trucks, digger derricks, boom trucks, and miscellaneous hand held tools according to standard operating procedures.
