Job summary

SLR Consulting (US) seeks a Traffic Signal Designer II to design traffic signals, ITS, and roadway improvements across CT/MA. You will work with engineers, PMs, and clients to deliver from concept to construction.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in traffic engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation, and knowledge of MUTCD/AASHTO. PE licensure and PTOE are a plus. This full-time role includes comprehensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in traffic engineering and signal design.
• Experience in traffic signal plans and specs development.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop traffic signal and ITS design plans.
• Prepare construction documents: signal layouts, wiring/interconnect, signing/marking, traffic control.
• Perform traffic analyses and operational studies.
• Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with municipalities, utilities, and state agencies.
• Conduct field investigations and condition assessments.
• Support construction administration and respond to inquiries.
• Participate in project meetings and client presentations.
