Job summary

Curtis Contracting, Inc. seeks a Traffic Signal Foreman to lead installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems and related infrastructure in the Norfolk area. You will supervise installers, coordinate with city and state agencies, and ensure work is performed safely and to code.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on electrical and electronic troubleshooting, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. IMSA II preferred; CDL helpful; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; IMSA Level II preferred.
• Experience in traffic signal maintenance or electrical systems is highly desirable.
• CDL preferred; electrical background strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and train a team of traffic signal installers and laborers.
• Install, maintain, and repair traffic signal systems, including lights, signals, and detectors.
• Understand phasing, detection systems, pushbuttons, communications, and cabinet terminations.
• Coordinate with city/state agencies and vendors to schedule work.
• Troubleshoot TS-1/TS-2/ATC cabinets and site cabinets; program flashing yellows where needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions in electrical and signaling equipment.
• Ensure safety protocols and MUTCD compliance; perform routine inspections.
• Oversee testing, installation, and commissioning of traffic signal equipment.
