Job description

Traffic & Revenue Engineer – Ferrovial’s Cintra units seeks a Traffic & Revenue Engineer responsible for analyzing traffic and socioeconomic data to develop accurate traffic and revenue forecasts to support the feasibility of new projects and manage existing ones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of traffic and socioeconomic data within concession companies and their area of influence.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated spreadsheet-based models to project traffic and revenue, considering historical data and prevailing economic conditions.
  • Prepare traffic & revenue related memos examining trends, leading indicators and travel patterns, and present findings and forecasts to supervisors and company executives.
  • Stay abreast of regional policies, market trends, and technological advancements that may impact traffic and revenue projections.
  • Define, implement, and analyze traffic data collection programs including traffic counts, market research surveys, opinion polls, and travel time surveys.
  • Collaborate with the business development department to prepare traffic and revenue components of feasibility analyses for potential projects.
  • Develop expertise in one or more of Cintra’s North American concessions, becoming an in‑house expert on its traffic & revenue data, legal and contractual obligations, and operational characteristics.
  • Prepare monthly reports summarizing the findings of analyses on recent traffic, revenue, and economic conditions in Cintra’s North American concession companies.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:
    • Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a focus on transportation and/or data analysis.
    • Completed coursework in transportation engineering, traffic analysis, traffic flow theory, or transportation planning (plus).
    • 1 to 3+ years of experience in transportation analysis.
    • Experience in conducting research, analyzing data, identifying trends, and generating insights.
    • Experience with discrete choice modeling, econometrics, or data mining is valuable.
    • Specific interest in transportation.
  • Professional Qualities:
    • Highly motivated.
    • Strong critical thinking skills.
    • Superior organizational and self‑management skills with the ability to proactively manage tasks with strict deadlines.
    • Ability to interact with colleagues in a self‑managed team structure.
    • Must be able to multitask, problem‑solve, and implement innovative processes within a fast‑paced environment.
    • Superior quantitative skills.
    • Superior writing and verbal communication skills, particularly technical report writing skills.
  • Computer Skills:
    • High computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other PC‑based programs.
    • Proficiency with ArcGIS, network modeling (TransCAD or Cube), statistical software, SQL, or Python is valuable.
    • Basic coding skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages for data analysis and modeling are highly desirable.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Some travel required, may include air travel.
  • Occasional lifting or moving up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: ability to adjust focus as necessary to use a computer.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
