You will work with clients, guide project teams, deliver safe, cost-effective mobility solutions, and advance your career while shaping transportation infrastructure across the region. Required: Civil Engineering degree, PE license, 10+ years in engineering with 2+ years in PM; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience; 2+ years in project management.
  • Expert knowledge in Traffic Studies Analysis and Signal Design.
  • Proficient in MicroStation and Synchro (v10+); MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Traffic & ITS projects from development through completion, ensuring safe, cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee scope, budget, and schedule; serve as primary client contact.
  • Coordinate contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation with clients and subcontractors.
  • Lead project financials, subcontractor payments, and monthly review meetings.
  • Develop project health and safety plans and ensure QA/QC compliance.
  • Communicate updates to clients, management, and teams for timely completion.

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Project Manager to join our Traffic & ITS Team in Columbia, SC. What You'll Do:
  • Manage Traffic & ITS transportation projects from development of project proposals through completion, delivering safe, resilient, and cost-effective solutions
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule, and serve as a primary client contact
  • Coordinate contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation with clients and subcontractors
  • Lead project financials, subcontractor payments, and monthly review meetings with operations
  • Develop project-specific health and safety plans and ensure QA/QC compliance as determined by the Quality Management Plan
  • Communicate updates clearly to clients, management, and project teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required, including 2 years of project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline in Traffic Studies Analysis and Signal Design with a proven ability to apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (MicroStation and Synchro version 10 or after) as well as Microsoft Office Suite and other management software
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proven ability to manage scope, budget and schedule of technical tasks
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-paced environment
  • Motivated self-starter who works well independently; adaptable, calm under pressure, and skilled in problem-solving and negotiation
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$115,000 - $145,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
